Vaccine Shortage is a Challenge for Obama
I just saw this article in the New York Times: Shortage of Vaccines Poses Political Test for Obama. Not sure why the blame of this would be placed on the President. Private Companies are producing the Swine Flu vaccine. The companies include GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, and Solvay (which was just purchased by Abbott).
These companies all predicted larger outputs, but the yield has been much lower than the typical influenza vaccine. Here is the Novartis CEO speaking to CNBC about the shortage in supply of the swine flu (H1N1) vaccine.
